Eberhard Breitmaier Institut für Organische Chemie Universität Bonn
Eberhard Breitmaier received his PhD at the University of Tübingen, Germany, as a member of the research group of Ernst Bayer. After a postdoctoral stay followed by a position as assistant professor at the University of Houston, Texas, he returned to Tübingen to gain his lecturing qualification in 1971. He was Professor for Organic and Analytical Chemistry at the University of Bonn from 1975 until 2004. His research focuses on 3-alkoxyacroleine as a reagent for chemical syntheses, porphyrinoid annulenes and natural products. Professor Breitmaier has authored many scientific publications and several textbooks on NMR-spectroscopy, organic chemistry and natural products.

Günther Jung studied Chemistry (degree: Diplom-Chemiker) at the Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen (1959-1965) and received his doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat. in Organic Chemistry) in 1967. In 1967/1968 he was Assistant Professor at the University Houston, Texas. In 1971, after his "habilitation" in the field of Chemistry of Natural Products, he received a "teaching permission" for Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, and since 1973 a permanent professorship at the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University of Tübingen. He declined several calls to other instutes and build up one of the most recognised research group for peptide and bioorganic chemistry. He was also Head of the Biochemistry Department at the Naturwissenschaftlich-Medizinischem Institut, University of Tübingen (1992-1996) and he is presently Head of the Steinbeis-Transferzentrum "Bioorganic Chemistry", University of Tübingen (since 1996). He is cofounder and Chief Scientific Officer of EMC microcollections GmbH since 1996, and Director of Chemistry of CureVac GmbH (since 2001).
