Science of Synthesis Version 3.7

Release date: March 2009

Thieme is pleased to announce that Science of Synthesis Version 3.7 is now available. Science of Synthesis, a comprehensive critical treatment of synthetic organic chemistry, is one of the most authoritative, in-depth information resources available on synthetic methodology.

The electronic information resource now contains 40 volumes, out of what will eventually be a total of 48 volumes. This upgraded version has a total of over 222,000 reactions, with over 8,000 new reactions, and holds significant synthetic methods for a wide range of classes of compounds.

With the addition of Volume 32, Category 4  (out of what will eventually total 6 categories) is complete. Category 1- 4 are all available online for the first time.

"The publication of a further two volumes of Science of Synthesis online brings the total number of volumes to 40, making this the largest collection of expert evaluated organic synthetic methods available online worldwide. The additional subject areas covered include the heteroatom-substituted alkenes (Volume 32) and the alkynes (Volume 43). Both volumes detail the classical routes of product class preparation, in addition to covering newer methodology, and, perspectives in organic synthesis for the 21st century," says M. Fiona Shortt de Hernandez, Managing Editor Science of Synthesis.

The information resource consists of six categories, of which the first four categories are now complete.
