Science of Synthesis Version 3.8

Release date: November 2009

Thieme is pleased to announce that Science of Synthesis Version 3.8 is now available. Science of Synthesis, a comprehensive critical treatment of synthetic organic chemistry, is one of the most authoritative, in-depth information resources available on synthetic methodology.

The electronic information resource now contains 42 volumes, out of what will eventually be a total of 48 volumes. This upgraded version has a total of over 238,000 reactions, with over 15,000 new reactions, and holds significant synthetic methods for a wide range of classes of compounds.

New content consists of:

“There has been a great deal of work done in the field of organophosphorus chemistry in recent decades so we are very pleased to be adding such pertinent content (as detailed in Volume 42)  at this point. Phosphorus plays an important role in homogeneous catalysis and biochemistry as well as in organic synthesis. Also, the addition of Volume 40, focusing on the synthesis of amines and related organonitrogen compounds, adds great value to the entire series. Providing such essential content empowers the organic synthetic chemist, for example, in their selection of reliable methods for natural product synthesis," says M. Fiona Shortt de Hernandez, Managing Editor Science of Synthesis.

The information resource consists of six categories, of which the first four categories are complete.
