With the publication of Volume 8b in December 2005, Category 1 is now complete. This is the second category of the 48-volume series to be finished. Science of Synthesis Version 3.0 Science of Synthesis launched a new version on 15 August 2005, featuring a re-developed interface and powerful advances in functionality. More... We are delighted to announce that Volume 21: Three Carbon¾Heteroatom Bonds: Amides and Derivatives; Peptides; Lactams was published on 10. August. The new SYNLETT editorial office in China is operational since August 2005. Therefore, authors from the Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau are invited to submit their SYNLETT manuscripts to Prof. H. N. C. Wong, the editor for this region. We are delighted to announce that Professor Paul Knochel received the Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award for his extensive work on organometallic reagents and especially for the development of new synthetic methodologies for organometallic reactions, asymmetric chemistry, and stereoselective radical chemistry. We are delighted to announce that Volume 22: Three Carbon¾ Heteroatom Bonds: Thio-, Seleno- and Tellurocarboxylic Acids and Derivatives; Imidic Acids and Derivatives; Ortho Acid Derivatives was published at the end of June. Orbituary Hans-Jürgen Bestmann Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. em. Hans-Jürgen Bestmann, who served for seven years as SYNTHESIS editor in chief, passed away on June 18, 2005, at the age of 79. Read more.
